Missouri gas tax refund requests available as fuel tax rises again
Missouri’s gas tax has risen another 2.5 cents a gallon after Gov. Mike Parson signed it into law last July.
This comes amid near record high prices for gasoline at the pump, with AAA reporting Missouri’s average price for a gallon of regular gas at $4.56.
The Missouri Department of Revenue says there are ways for you to get refunds though.
If you saved your receipts from this past year you can use this form and submit it to the state.
Starting the new year, you may not apply for a refund claim until July 1, 2023, so you will need to begin saving records of each purchase occurring on or after Oct. 1, 2022, that you intend to include in your refund claim next year.
