Second Case Of Monkeypox Confirmed In Missouri

There’s now a second confirmed case of monkeypox in Missouri. 

The latest case, like the first, is in the Kansas City area, according to the state department of Health and Senior Services. 

The C-D-C says monkeypox is similar to smallpox, but is milder and rarely fatal, and can be contracted through prolonged close contact. 

The best way to avoid getting infected is to avoid sharing utensils, bed sheets, or other items touched by an infected person — and to not kiss, cuddle, or have sexual relations with someone that’s infected. 

Symptoms include a rash resembling pimples, fever, headaches, aches and pains, chills, exhaustion, and swollen lymph nodes.
