Joplin City Council to meet Monday night
The Joplin City Council meets Monday night.
Members will review a request by Dollar General for review of a site plan for a new retail location to be located just west of the intersection of E. Zora and St. Louis. The Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended approval of the plan.
Members will be asked to approve a resolution to appoint a new member to the Northpark Lane Community Improvement District (CID) Board.
The Council will be asked to reaffirm the gross tax receipts to be imposed on an any electric corporation in the city, in this case Liberty Utilities (Empire District).
Council members will review a request for funding for the initial professional engineering study for a new Grand Falls Trail to be built along the banks of Shoal Creek in south Joplin. The projected cost of the study would be $162,750.
The public meeting will be followed by a closed session of the City Council.
The open meeting gets underway at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at Joplin City Hall at 602 S. Main.
