Tyreek Hill: “I’m going to retire a Chief”
Former Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver Tyreek Hill made a stop in Joplin Friday afternoon to host his youth football camp and says he was excited to be in town.
“Any chance I can come out and be a spotlight in a kid’s life and push the game forward I’m always about it,” said Hill, who was traded to the Miami Dolphins in March. “I feel like that’s my purpose in life, giving back to the community, giving back to the kids and pouring back into the game of football. I’m just proud to be that role model.
Tyreek says the Kansas City Chiefs will always have a place in his heart. “The love is always going to be there, no matter what. I’ve said this once and I’m going to say it again but I’m going to retire a Chief. This is where it all started, this is where I became a man.”
Tyreek was drafted by the Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL draft. “These are the guys who gave me a chance and believed in me. I’m going to retire a Chief baby no matter what because they were the only team that believed in me when no one else believed in me.”
“Thank you Coach Reed, John Dorsey, thank you Alex Smith, Patrick Mahomes, everybody who helped me along the way.”
