Joplin City Council to meet Monday night
New fire station, review of candidate recount among items on agenda
The Joplin City Council meets Monday night in regular session.
The agenda includes a large number of individual items.
The Council will consider an agreement with G&G Construction for ADA Ramp improvements at the Joplin Airport and on the west side of City Hall.
Council members will be asked to approve an agreement with R.E. Smith Construction company to build a new Joplin Fire Station in the area of East 32nd St. and Jaguar Road.
The bill for the new station would be $4.5 million dollars.
Members also will discuss a construction agreement with Joplin Industrial Electric for a Murphy Boulevard High Water Automated Gates System Project.
The Council will review the results of the recount of the April City Council election from Jasper County Clerk Charlie Davis. That recount confirmed the loss of candidate Brian Evans.
The meeting gets underway at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall at 602 S. Main.
It is open to the public.
