Man drowns in high water near Greenfield Thursday
A driver in Dade county has died after high water swept away his truck.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened about a mile south of Greenfield around 2 a.m. Thursday morning.
The Patrol says 65-year old Bradley Herbert’s vehicle was swept off off Highway I43 into deeper water on Limekiln Creek and submerged.
The Patrol says Herbert got out of the truck successfully but drowned while trying to swim to shore.
His body was recovered on shore after the water receded during the day yesterday.
