Missouri AAA spokesperson says gas prices to likely rise even more as Pres. Biden bans Russian oil
Will President Biden’s move to halt imports of Russian oil significantly impact gas prices in Missouri?
While gas prices were already on the rise in Missouri, the decision to ban oil from Russia will likely cause a greater spike in prices, at least in the short term.
That’s according to Nick Chabarria, spokesperson for AAA’s St. Louis office:
“It’s tough to predict, you know, where gas prices will go and when…certainly we’ve seen in the last week or so, you know, just how much of an impact local economics and global politics have on our crude oil prices, which means, you know, having an impact on our gas prices right here at home in Missouri.”
The national average price for gasoline is at an all-time high, at four dollars, 17-cents a gallon. The average price in Missouri is three dollars, 73 cents a gallon.
