Former NW Arkansas Children’s Shelter employee arrested for alleged rape
A man who once was an employee of the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter in Bentonville is under arrest for the alleged rape of a 10-year-old shelter resident.
NWA Online reports that 23-year-old Hunter De La Garza (pictured at right) is being held in the Benton County Jail on $250,000 bond after being arrested on Saturday.
The rape reportedly occurred during a single-day outing away from the shelter.
A judge has ordered Del La Garza to have no contact with the girl he’s accused of having raped or any other children or the shelter and daycare there.
Garza reportedly worked at the Shelter for about a year before he was fired.
No formal charges have yet been filed.
