Motorist hits truck abandoned on highway near Nevada

The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells NewsTalk KZRG that 29-year-old Samuel P. Kimmell of Nevada was driving on U.S.54 about 4 miles west of Nevada just after dark on New Years Day when he hit a heavy-duty pickup that had been abandoned in the roadway.

The identity of the person who left the truck there is unknown.

Kimmell’s Ford F-150 suffered extensive damage in the 7 p.m. crash.

Kimmell was transported to Nevada Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
