Newton County accident takes life of Neosho girl

A accident on Norway Road, about two miles east of Neosho in Newton County, has taken the life of a 17-year-old Neosho girl.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the girl, whose name has not been released due to her age, was driving westbound just before 7 Friday night when her car left the roadway, struck a tree and caught on fire.

She was pronounced dead by Newton County Coroner Jerry Deems.
