KC Security Guard Shot While on Duty

Lorrie McNowelly says her husband Lee would “have done anything to just make it home.”

Kansas City Police tell News Talk KZRG that 20-year-old Lee McNowelly, of Independence, was found dead in his car early Sunday in an industrial area in the southeast part of the city. Lee was working as a security guard and according to his was he was less than an hour away from finishing his 12-hour overnight shift

Lee and Lorie were high school sweethearts and had been married for two years. She described her husband as “incredibly caring.”

Police haven’t released a motive for the killing but urge anyone with information to call a tips hotline or their local police department.
