Joplin City Council to hold work session tonight

The Joplin City Council will hold a special meeting tonight. Members will be talking about implementation of the use tax passed by voters last week.

The work session agenda will include a look at a Broadband Gap Analysis Report for Joplin.

A survey commissioned by the city has shown that only 71% of households in the city have home broadband connections, well below the 87 percent national average.

The Council will review an Action Plan that discusses declining neighborhoods, homelessness,safety and other issues of key importance.

The meeting gets underway at at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at 602 S. Main.
