Man from Aurora faces charges after involvement in two vehicle crash Saturday morning

One man from Aurora faces charges after a two-vehicle accident that took place in Newton County on Saturday just after 10 AM.

The incident took place on I-49, about 4 miles south of Joplin.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash report says that a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by 36-year-old Stephen Butts, sideswiped a 2007 Ford Explorer, driven by 55-year-old Jaynelle Bowden.

This caused Bowden’s vehicle to overturn. Buss’s vehicle then ran off the roadway and struck a tree.

Both were transported by EMS to Freeman West; they were wearing seatbelts.

Butts was charged with 1) Felony Driving While Intoxicated(DRUGS) 2) Careless And Imprudent Driving Involving A Crash 3) No Insurance
