Cyclist dies in McDonald County accident Friday afternoon

Riding a motorcycle can be so much fun.

But, when an accident happens, the fun ends.

That was the case for a rider on Pine Tree Road six miles south of Powell in McDonald County on Friday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 41-year-old Michael S. Tate of Pea Ridge, Arkansas was killed after his eastbound Harley traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.

The Highway Patrol Accident report says Tate was wearing a helmet when the accident happened.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Johnathan Fletcher.
