Four injured and one killed during one vehicle accident Saturday evening in Barton County
None of the occupants inside the vehicle were wearing seatbelts
One person was killed and four others injured in a one-vehicle crash Saturday evening in Barton county around 8:09 PM.
The incident took place on US Highway 160, about four miles north of Golden City.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash report says a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 22-year-old Isiah Pitts was traveling down the roadway when he struck a bull, and then traveled off the road and struck a tree.
One passenger, 44-year-old Jason Hawkins of Lamar, was later pronounced dead at a Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
There were four other minors in the vehicle during the crash; all of them sustained minor injuries.
None of the individuals were wearing seat belts.
