Man with long criminal history sentenced for St. Louis death
ST. LOUIS (AP) – A 67-year-old St. Louis man who has been in and out of prison for half his life has been sentenced to up to 20 years for a woman’s murder.
Walter Kemp was sentenced earlier this week after he pleaded guilty in the death of 30-year-old Haley Davis in July 2018 in St. Louis.
On Friday, Kemp was sentenced to a concurrent term of 10 years in a 2017 case for being a felon in possession of a weapon.
Prosecutors said Kemp killed Haley, a native of Sikeston, when they argued at her apartment.
Kemp has been charged in at least three other homicides in the St. Louis region since the 1970s.
