Woman from St. Joseph will not be prosecuted in shooting death of her husband

(AP) – The Buchanan County Prosecutor says a woman from St. Joseph will not be prosecuted in the shooting death of her husband. Prosecutor Ron Holliday said in a news release Friday that evidence indicated Dawn Applegarth was acting in self-defense when she shot her husband, 60-year-old Mark Applegarth, at their home on May 7. Holliday says the investigation determined Dawn Applegarth was in fear for her life or serious injury when the shooting occurred.
