Woman from St. Joseph will not be prosecuted in shooting death of her husband
Evidence revealed Friday via a news release stated Dawn Applegarth was acting in self-defense
(AP) – The Buchanan County Prosecutor says a woman from St. Joseph will not be prosecuted in the shooting death of her husband. Prosecutor Ron Holliday said in a news release Friday that evidence indicated Dawn Applegarth was acting in self-defense when she shot her husband, 60-year-old Mark Applegarth, at their home on May 7. Holliday says the investigation determined Dawn Applegarth was in fear for her life or serious injury when the shooting occurred. The St. Joseph News-Press reports Mark Applegarth was prosecuted for domestic abuse against his wife in January
