Oklahoma gets over $9 million from HHS to support rural COVID efforts

Oklahoma will be getting over $9 million from the U.S. Department of Health and Human services to support COVID-19 response efforts in rural areas of the state.

The funding, provided through the Small Rural Hospital Improvement Program, will be going out to 35 small hospitals in rural areas.

It will go for COVID-19 testing and mitigation efforts and those health care institutions.

HHS says the State Offices of Rural Health that works with the hospitals to implement quality and operational improvement efforts, will receive the funding to distribute to small rural hospitals in the state.
