Lake of The Ozarks realtor charged with conspiracy to commit murder
44-year-old Leigh Ann Bauman faces the charge
A realtor from Lake of The Ozarks has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder in connection with an alleged plot to kill her former mother-in-law, according to reports.
44-year-old Leigh Ann Bauman faces this charge after reportedly forming the plot because she believed that the mother would cause a strain on the relationship with her daughters, reports say.
Bauman allegedly was preparing to pay $1,500 for the deed in March as she asked a friend for leads on a hitman.
Court documents say that Bauman believed her ex and former mother-in-law had the intention of taking her to court for full custody of their children.
Bauman’s plan fell apart when her friend contacted Bauman’s lawyer, who then alerted the police.
When authorities asked her about the withdraw of $1,500 from her bank, Bauman said she could not remember.
Bauman was taken into custody by authorities.
She has a jury trial set to begin March 14, 2022, according to court records.
