Two arrested in northeast Oklahoma for child abuse

Two people from northeast Oklahoma have been arrested on charges of child abuse. Read the press release below:

On Feb 20, 2021, during the extreme cold, a small child walked into Wal-Mart and told clerks his mother had given him a black eye. The child was wet and cold and very hungry. Responding Officers then noted bruising all over his body.

This triggered an investigation and two individuals were arrested in relation to that incident.

39-year-old Christopher Haury of Afton was arrested on the charge of child abuse and assault by strangulation, and 28-year-old Kristin Pierot of Miami was arrested for the charge of child abuse.

Both individuals were transported to the Ottawa County Sherriff’s office and held on a $150,000 bond.
