“Person of Interest” in murder of Sarcoxie woman found dead in Alabama

A man from Alabama who had been named as a person of interest in connection with the homicide of a woman from Sarcoxie has been found dead, apparently of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Authorities in Cullman County, Alabama say 34-year-old Justin Chase Stevens was found dead in a garage where he had evidently been staying.

Stevens had been on the run following the murder of 46-year-old Becci Sanders in Sarcoxie on January 13th.

Stevens had evidently stolen Sanders’ Subaru which was found abandoned in Kentucky on January 22nd.

No details have been released on how Sanders died.

Stevens is listed as being from Cullman, Alabama.
