The investigation continues into a fatal car accident
How fast was she going? How hard was the impact? Was there any chance of a different outcome? The Joplin Police Department Major Crash Team is investigating the accident from Sunday January 3rd when 30-year-old Rita Glasgow of Joplin was speeding and failed to stop before she slammed into a car killing 55-year-old terry Copple and 48-year-old Rhonda Copple. The team closed Connecticut from 26th to 30th today for further investigation.
Glasgow was scheduled for a hearing yesterday in Newton County Circuit Court for two drug trafficking cases stemming from arrests in 2019 and 2020.
The Truck she was driving was stolen and she was also in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Glasgow now faces charges of driving while intoxicated in an accident resulting in the death of two others, vehicle tampering and possession of a controlled substance.
