Destroyed by fire

Fire destroyed 2 buildings and damaged 2 others in downtown Noel Missouri.    Firefighters from Noel and 5 other communities fought the fire that destroyed the African Grocery Store and a Mosque in the 300 block of Main Street.   One person inside the store where the fire started was flown by air ambulance to a hospital with extensive burns.   A Noel firefighter was taken to a Joplin hospital with injuries when part of the building fell on his head.    A third building suffered fire damage, while a fourth building suffered water damage.    According to Noel Fire Chief Brandon Barrett, the fire was reported just before 7 AM Monday morning.    At midday, firefighters were still putting water on hot spots.
