Crawford County investigating death of inmate inside the county jail

Authorities in Crawford County, Kansas are investigating a reported death inside the County jail in Girard.

That’s according to a news release sent to NewsTalk KZRG from Crawford County Sheriff Danny Smith:

“On 12/14/2020 at approximately 0652 hours Correctional Officers found a male inmate unresponsive in his cell. The inmate was identified as William Haddan,46 of Pittsburg, Kansas. Correctional Officers entered Mr. Hadden’s cell to render aid.  Crawford County EMS, Girard Fire, and Girard PD also responded to the incident.

“Mr. Hadden was pronounced dead by the Deputy County Coroner. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation was notified and is investigating the death. The body was transported to Kansas City for autopsy.”
