Joplin’s Memorial Run still set for Saturday.

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, The Joplin Memorial Run, which honors the 161 lives lost during the 2011 EF5 tornado, will be put on this weekend.

Usually held in May, the running event was rescheduled for Saturday. However, there will only be three in-person races this year:  the half-marathon, the 5k, and the 10k.

The deadline for signup is the end of today.

Registration packets are available from 4-7 PM at Joplin Empire Market on 931 E Fourth St.

The start times for each race are:

8AM – Freeman Half-Marathon

8:15 AM – Sparklight 10k

8:30 AM – Liberty Utilities 5k
