Oklahoma officials report hospitalizations top previous one-day high
The number of people hospitalized in Oklahoma with the coronavirus has surpassed 1,500 and the number of reported cases is up by 3,663.
The Oklahoma State Department of Health on Saturday reported 1,505 hospitalizations, topping the previous one-day high of 1,434 on Wednesday.
There have been a total of 170,924 reported cases since the start of the pandemic and the department reports that 1,624 people have died due to COVID-19, the illness caused by the virus.
The true number of infections is likely higher because many people haven’t been tested, and studies suggest people can be infected and not feel sick.
