LaDue agrees to $2 million settlement after shooting of suspect
A police officer in LaDue, a suburb of St. Louis, said she meant to use her stun gun to stop a suspected shoplifter.
Instead, she accidentally used her service revolver to shoot the suspect in the back.
The City of LaDue has agreed to pay $2 million to settle a federal lawsuit.
The city of admitted no wrongdoing in the confidential settlement revealed Friday as a result of a media open records request.
The officer has resigned her position and pleaded not guilty to a charge of 2nd-degree assault.
