Former Nevada officer charged with child sex crimes

A former Nevada police officer is charged with child sex crimes that allegedly happened during a police-ride along program.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 17-year-old who reported being sexually abused at the age of 16 by former Nevada police officer Brian K. Hansen.

The Patrol says Hansen admitted to engaging in sexual activity with the victim but claimed she was 17 years old at the time.

The Vernon County Prosecutor’s Office has filed five counts of statutory sodomy and one count of furnishing pornographic material to a minor against Hansen.

Hansen resigned from his position on the Nevada Police force in March of this year.
