Don’t let working at home affect your sleep schedule
Is working at home and getting out of your normal schedule affecting your sleep?
Joplin Pulmonologist Dr. Grant Pierson says NOT getting enough sleep can lead to other problems.
“It’s going to increase our risk of infections. It increases our risk of coronary heart disease, vascular disease, diabetes, obesity,” Pierson stated. “Getting the appropriate amount of sleep is very important.”
Pierson suggests getting up instead of staying in bed for long hours, working at home according to a schedule, and getting plenty of exercise and exposure to natural light to help maintain a normal sleep patterns.
Pierson made the comments at Monday’s media briefing at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
