California Man Claims Silver Dollar City’s Water Ride Stole His Haunted Garage Attraction Name

A man from California who once turned his garage into a haunted house is suing Silver Dollar City so they can’t name their new water ride “Mystic River Falls” because he alleges it’s too similar to his tiny spook house that he named “Mystic Motel”.

Scott D’Avanzo wants Silver Dollar City change the name of the ride that opens next summer to avoid confusion and unfair competition even though his 2013 haunted garage hasn’t been operational in years.

Silver Dollar City sued in response, saying no one would ever mistaken a multi-million-dollar water ride for a haunted house built in someone’s attached garage that D’Avanzo says was built as a “family project and neighborhood attraction.”
