JASPER COUNTY, Mo. — A Carthage father pleaded not guilty Monday to multiple felony child endangerment charges after his child suffered severe burns and had to be rushed to a Springfield hospital.
Christopher Albine, 38, appeared via video in a Jasper County courtroom on September 14 to enter his plea. Prosecutors charged him last week with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Deputies were called out to Albine’s residence at the Deerfield Village Apartments on Wednesday following reports of an injured child. Medical personnel evaluated the child's burns at the scene before transferring the victim to Springfield for specialized care.
Albine remains behind bars as the case moves through Jasper County Circuit Court.
