Crash claims life of 73-year-old Joplin man

A 73-year-old Joplin man was killed in a rollover crash in rural Newton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on South Main Street, just south of Shoal Cliff Drive near Joplin.
The report says the man's Jeep Wrangler traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:47 p.m. Thursday.
Authorities said his next of kin has been notified, but they have not made his name public.
The Highway Patrol lists the death as Troop D’s 89th traffic fatality of 2026.
