Carthage, MO – A ribbon cutting for the recently restored “Light Guard Band” mural was held Thursday morning.
Located at the corner of 2nd and Main Street, this beloved mural has been thoughtfully restored by local artist Cheryl Church, preserving the original work created by John Biggs.
The revitalized mural adds new life, color, and character to one of downtown Carthage's well-traveled corners.
The Carthage Community Foundation funded the $6,600 mural.
“We’re committed to bringing faded murals back to life,” stated Sally Stuart, Co Director of Vision Carthage.

“In addition to restoring what was nearly lost, we’re excited about adding new murals downtown as well.”
The community is invited to attend this ribbon cutting event in coordination with the Carthage
