Six charges have been filed against a Pierce City woman accused of leading police on a high-speed pursuit with three children and meth in her vehicle.

Jamie Earp faces three counts of first-degree child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and aggravated fleeing — all felonies.

She is also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a probable cause statement, a Chevrolet Silverado entered an officer’s lane near Commercial Street and Lawrence County Road 2230 around 9:19 p.m. Aug. 10, nearly causing a head-on crash with the patrol car.

Police said the driver refused to stop and reached speeds of 80 to 90 mph while running several stop signs and repeatedly leaving her lane.

The pursuit crossed into Newton County and ended near Wallaby and Gum roads.

Investigators said Earp ran into a field with three juveniles before she was taken into custody.

All three children later returned to the vehicle.

Earp allegedly told police her license was revoked and that a “dirty pipe” was inside the center console.

Officers said they found the pipe and a bag containing a crystal substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Earp was initially placed on a 24-hour hold but is not currently in custody.

The charges are allegations, and she is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
