Joplin’s Regal Northstar theater reportedly closing for good

Regal Northstar 14 in Joplin appears to be showing its final movies today after nearly 28 years in business.

Regal confirms the theater is closing, saying the decision is part of an effort to optimize its theater network.

Customers with tickets for future showings are also now receiving refunds, with at least one message from Regal stating simply, “The theater is closing.”

A person identifying themselves as a longtime Northstar employee says today is the final day.

The theater opened in December 1998 and became a Regal location in 2013.
