A longtime Neosho, Missouri, restaurant will serve its final customers this weekend after its owner says mounting financial losses made it impossible to keep the business open.

The Sho Me Diner announced Thursday that Saturday will be its final day in business.

In a message to customers, the owner said the decision had been fought for more than two years, but the restaurant could no longer continue losing money each day.

“We have given this everything we have, but unfortunately, sometimes that still isn’t enough,” the owner wrote.

The diner will be open Friday from noon to 2:30 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Its previously scheduled karaoke night has been canceled.

The owner said the closure will not completely end the business, with plans to return to its roots by offering some baked goods from home through special orders.
