Two people under arrest following an investigation in the Pittsburg area and a vehicle pursuit Thursday afternoon

After a driver fled from a traffic stop, the Kansas Highway Patrol used aircraft to track the vehicle down.

Near the intersection of K126 and South 190th Street, Sheriff Tomasi, alongside the KHP Air Support Unit, performed a tactical vehicle intervention maneuver to stop the car.

The driver, 38-year-old Jerry Wright and  43-year-old Whitney Hernandez-Aguilar, a passenger, were arrested. Other passengers were released.

A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered a significant amount of suspected methamphetamine.

The arrestees are lodged in the Crawford County Jail in Girard.

Later in the night, deputies executed a search warrant at 902 East 9th Street in Pittsburg, where more suspected methamphetamine was found and seized.
