The Missouri State Fair started yesterday in Sedalia and runs through August 23rd. This year's theme puts a patriotic spotlight on the Show-Me State.
Missouri State Fair Director Jason Moore says "Show-Me Stars and Stripes" was chosen to celebrate a major milestone in American history.
“We're going to kick it into high gear with the decorations on the buildings and patriotic-themed things in our barns. New ribbons this year that are red, white, and blue. We've got the Freedom Truck. That was in Washington, DC over the 4th of July. It's a traveling museum that's really cool. It takes you back to 1776.”
The Missouri State Fair features livestock shows, concerts, exhibits, carnival rides and other attractions.
