If there is one way to get your business noticed in the Four States, it's establishing and marketing your brand.

That’s what several locally-owned businesses found out on Tuesday at the bi-annual Brand Kamp workshop put on by Zimmer Marketing.

According to Kelly Dannels with the insurance professionals at the Don Gould Agency of Joplin, her biggest takeaway from the workshop was:  “Radio ads are not dead and that they are well above any other type of marketing strategy and they're really impactful for long term brand recognition.”

Dannels said because of this workshop:   “We have to build a branding package that continues the legacy of our agency and grows it for the next generation to come.  I think ‘Brand Kamp’ was fantastic and I look forward to working with them (Zimmer Marketing) more in the future.”

Local business representatives gathered for a 90-minute presentation by Chuck Mefford, an author, marketing strategist and national speaker, on how to use media to create a strong message for their customer base as well as learning how to measure the results.

Danielle of Four States Dental Care, with offices in Neosho, Webb City and Monett told Newstalk KZRG her thoughts about the workshop:

“I think our biggest takeaway would be pouring most of our marketing money into one cup instead of 30 cups.  We will reevaluate where we're putting our marketing money and see if it would be beneficial for us to put more into radio.”

Danielle went on to say:  “We love working with Zimmer.  They're great to work with.  They are personable, and we have seen a lot of new patients just based on our radio ads.”

The workshop is centered around the marketing of a business’s brand, with Mefford going over ways to develop a campaign, best practices for a marketing schedule and the most-effective way to determine goals and objectives. He explained the importance of a quality website, which can help tell the story of a business to its customers, in the digital age as well as what you can get out of each different form of media and advertising.

Mefford made it a point to try and connect with the audience, which included several videos. When asked if this workshop was something they would encourage other local businesses to attend, the  answer was a resounding yes.
