On the week of May 4th - 8th, on your scheduled pick-up day, residents can place at curbside a larger amount of trash that would normally not be picked up, understanding that there should be reasonable amounts in terms of weight and volume.

Please note: While your normal trash route will take place as usual, a second truck will be taking your bulk items.

ACCEPTABLE: Carpet (bundled), furniture, mattress & box springs, toys, tools, bicycles (minus tires), general waste.

UNACCEPTABLE: Tires, batteries, paint, liquid waste, construction material, automobile parts, appliances, guns/ammunition, concrete/dirt, bricks, electronics, yard waste, leaves, grass clippings, unknown compressed gas cylinders, explosives, prescription medicine/syringes, infectious/biological waste, radioactive waste.

ALERT!!! A MAJOR CHANGE to how City-Wide Cleanup operates begins this year. Because of increased costs, the city has no choice but to discontinue hosting stations for Electronics and Household Hazardous Waste.

Because of our partnership with Region M, residents may bring the following Household Hazardous Waste items to the Joplin Recycling Center, located at 13100 West A Street.

  • Aerosol cans (including aerosol paint cans)

  • Batteries

  • Household Cleaners

  • Lawn and Garden Products

  • Mercury Debris

  • Pool and Spa Supplies

  • Propane Tanks, Metal Cylinders, and Fire Extinguishers

If you have any Electronic Waste, call Noble Earth Recovery at (417) 592-9760 to see what options are available

For other questions you can call (417) 673-6297
