The 45-year-old Simpson, diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD, is scheduled to be executed on Thursday, Feb. 12 for the 2006 murders of Glen Palmer and Anthony Jones.

Dr. Elizabeth Overman, chair of the Oklahoma Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, called it a "sad day for Oklahoma."

Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond applauded the decision.

“This ruthless and violent killer hunted and executed his victims without remorse," Drummond said. "I commend the Pardon and Parole Board for rejecting clemency today."
