Carthage Police investigating Thursday evening homicide

The Carthage Police Department is investigating a death on Thursday evening in an apartment complex in the 400 block of West Fir Road.

The call came in at 6:22 p.m.

First responders located 51-year-old Donald Webb of Carthage suffering from a gunshot wound inside a second-floor apartment.

Despite life-saving efforts, Webb was pronounced deceased.

Candida Hudson, 39, of Carthage was arrested and charged by the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Office with Murder in the Second Degree and Armed Criminal Action.

Hudson is currently being held at the Jasper County Jail with no bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
