UPDATE: New details released about the death of 10-year-old Easton Freeman, a Commerce, Oklahoma, elementary student, who was hit by a UTV Tuesday evening.
The Commerce, Oklahoma, community is mourning the loss of an elementary student after a UTV accident Tuesday evening.
A man from Miami, Oklahoma, has been arrested on charges of “DUI causing great bodily injury“.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the collision happened on South 490 Road, about seven miles west of Commerce.
Exact details about how the fatal accident happened are unknown but the patrol lists the 10-year-old boy as a pedestrian.
He was flown to a Tulsa hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.
The Can-Am Defender UTV was reportedly being driven by 67-year-old Douglas Allen Gray, who was allegedly under the influence at the time. Gray and three others in the vehicle were not hurt.
The crash is still under investigation.
