NEO hosts Advisory Council Meeting to strengthen partnerships & programs

MIAMI, Okla. – On Tuesday, April 15, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College’s (NEO) Academic Affairs division hosted its annual Advisory Council Meeting in the Calcagno Family Ballroom.

The event brought together more than 80 faculty members, alumni, industry leaders, and community stakeholders for an evening of discussion and collaboration focused on the success of NEO students.

With over 25 academic programs represented, departments broke out into individual advisory councils to discuss program-specific needs and strategies. These advisory groups serve as an essential feedback loop, helping NEO stay current with industry trends, workforce demands, and curriculum standards of four-year institutions.

“Tonight is a valuable opportunity to gain insight from our NEO stakeholders to continue improving the learning experience of students,” said Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Dustin Grover. “Our primary goal for this event is to ensure NEO is aligned with the evolving needs of industry, the workforce, and four-year institutions—so our students are fully prepared to succeed at the next level.”

The Advisory Council Meeting plays a key role in building awareness, strengthening partnerships, and creating new opportunities for students and faculty alike. The insights gathered will be evaluated and used to guide meaningful updates to academic programming and student support strategies.
