Southwest Missouri Congressman Burlison on budget bill and DOGE hearing

Southwest Missouri Congressman Eric Burlison was speaking against the Senate version of the big beautiful bill.
But, when it came to the House floor, he voted for it.
Burlison told the KZRG Morning Newswatch why:
“We were able to get a commitment in this bill from the President to cut at least a minimum of $1 trillion, not including the green new scam subsidies, which are probably created more towards $1.7 trillion if we cut all those. We got a second commitment from the speaker, Mike Johnson, to tie the tax cuts to real spending cuts. And then we got a third commitment from the Senate Majority Leader Thune that the Senate would cut, so it would match the house at a minimum of $1.5 trillion in spending cuts.”
The bill will now go to the reconciliation process before becoming law.
Burlison is also on the House DOGE committee and recently held a hearing in an empty building.
Burlison told Newstalk KZRG why the building was empty:
“Voice of America was in the process of moving to a more immaculate facility they were building in downtown DC, with a $250 million lease payment. That’s why I’m glad to find that Donald Trump not only did he cancel that lease, but he sent home all of those workers.”
