Columbus man killed in head-on collision on Highway 160

A crash on Highway 160 in southeast Kansas has claimed the life of a man from Columbus.

It happened Thursday morning, west of Columbus, when an SUV tried to pass two semi-trucks, but hit a pickup truck head-on.

The driver of the pickup truck has been identified as Alan Christmas. He passed away at the scene.

The driver of the SUV has been identified as Randy Kirkpatrick, of Oswego, who suffered “major” injuries.
