Two under arrest for burglary and theft in Pittsburg

On Friday, March 28, 2025, at approximately 1:23 PM, an officer with the Pittsburg Police Department was dispatched to the 300 block of N. Broadway Street, Pittsburg. The victim reported they were waiting for the bus, and two individuals rode by on bicycles, circled around the victim, and then took the victim’s backpack which was on the ground near her.

A theft report was taken, and officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspects. During the investigation, leads were developed identifying potential suspects in the theft

On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at approximately 12:28 PM, an officer with the Pittsburg Police Department was dispatched to a report of a residential burglary in the 400 block of E. Jackson Street. The reporting party advised they were remodeling the residence and was last at the residence the day prior.

The reporting party advised they returned to the residence and found they were missing two doors and an expandable ladder from the residence. At the time of the report, no suspect information was identified

On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at approximately 8:51 AM, an officer with the Pittsburg Police Department was dispatched to a report of a residential burglary in the 1700 block of S. John F. Kennedy Street. The reporting party advised earlier in the morning, around 5:50 AM, his home security camera captured two individuals entering his enclosed porch, looking around with a flashlight and then stealing his security camera. Based on the video provided by the victim two suspects were identified. Earlier that morning, prior to the report of this residential burglary, the same two suspects were contacted by officers at a storage unit in the 400 block of S. Joplin Street, however no criminal activity was discovered at that time

On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at approximately 12:00 PM, officers located the two suspects at a residence in the 400 block of W. 9th Street, in Pittsburg, and took 22yearold Eric T. Jones and 27yearold Sean M. Wolsey into custody. Jones and Wolsey were transported to the police department and interviewed in reference to the above cases, as well as other theft and burglaryrelated cases. During the investigation it was discovered that a storage unit was burglarized earlier in the morning in the 400 block of S. Joplin Street, after an officer contacted  Jones and Wolsey

Search warrants for Jonesand Wolsey’s residence and storage unit were applied for and granted. The search warrants were executed, and evidence related to multiple theft and  burglaries incidents was seized. Wolsey and Jones are believed to be the suspects of several of these cases

As a result of the investigation, Jones and Wolsey were placed under arrest and transported to the Crawford County Jail. Jones and Wolsey were both arrested for one count of felony aggravated burglary, two counts of felony burglary, three counts of felony theft, one count of misdemeanor theft

The investigation into these, as well as other burglary and theft reports, is ongoing and items of seized evidence are being evaluated for relevance to open cases. Additional charges could follow

Jones and Wolsey are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
