Pittsburg Police recover stolen vehicle, arrest driver on multiple charges

Late Monday morning, Pittsburg Police Officers were dispatched to a residence in that city in reference to a stolen motor vehicle. The reporting party said his gold 2003 Honda Odyssey was stolen between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m. on March 24th.

The officer collected information for this report and the Honda Odyssey was entered into the National Crime Information Center database as a stolen vehicle.

Early Tuesday evening the Pittsburg Police Department Communications Center received a hit from a Flock license plate reader, located within the City of Pittsburg, on the 2003 Honda Odyssey.

An officer located the gold Honda Odyssey near Centennial Drive and Broadway Street and verified the license plate information was the same as the vehicle stolen from East 21st Street the previous day.

The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in the parking lot of a Pittsburg business. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 50-year-old Tony Vickers Corbitt, of Pittsburg, who was detained by police. The male passenger was identified and released from the scene.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located drugs, believed to be Methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

Tony Corbitt was arrested for Possession of Stolen Property (Felony), Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Distribute, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Corbitt was transported to the Crawford County Jail, where he was booked in, and is currently being held without bond. Investigation into this matter continues.

Corbitt is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
