Congressman Eric Burlison discusses nuclear energy – shutting down Department of Education

Burlison highlighted a ‘historic’ executive order from President Trump aimed at shutting down the Department of Education, saying that high federal spending has failed to enhance educational outcomes. 

Burlison advocated for congressional bills that would allocate education funding directly to parents, framing this as a way to return authority to states. 

On the energy front, he emphasized the critical importance of expanding nuclear energy, labeling Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) as a transformative solution for providing clean electricity. 

Burlison argued for a shift in regulatory frameworks to facilitate the development of SMRs, asserting that traditional wind and solar sources alone cannot adequately meet future energy demands.
