EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin visits contamination sites in the St. Louis area

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin paid a visit to the St. Louis area to see for himself areas contaminated by radioactive waste left over from World War Two.

After hearing from residents Monday impacted by the leftover waste, Zeldin floated the idea of the federal government potentially buying their homes, so they could move out without tricking someone else into buying them.

Zeldin told Newstalk KZRG:  “You can’t allow anyone else to move into your home. You don’t want to sell it to someone else. You’re not going to keep your mouth shut. You don’t want someone else in your family to move in.”

Zeldin also requested a report on the progress at those sites in the next three weeks which he vowed to make public.

His visit fulfilled a promise he made to Missouri Senator Josh Hawley during his confirmation hearing.
